Im not a fan of super lotto.
di ko susubukang tumaya in the future… (peksman!)

.. but when everyone is talking about it, including those
who are in upper chamber of our legislative body and Malacañang,
it’s hard not to get caught with the “Lotto fever“…

yes. somebody won the P741 Million.. (taga-Olongapo City)
… and im happy for him..
kung sino man yung nanalo… i wish him well. (cheeseburger naman diyan!)

this whole “lotto” craze got me thinking…
(Smurkydad’s WARNING: bato-bato sa langit..
.. ang matamaan eh… bukol!)

study in US was conducted on lotto winners.
it revealed an astonishing findings: no matter how big or small their lotto winnings are, 96% of lotto winners go back to their
original “poor” condition after 3-5 years.

That’s sad. What happened to their money?

I dont want to sound like Sigmund Freud here but let me continue…
Everything boils down to one’s psychological wallet.

Idaan ko na lang sa kwento..

***Who’s the richest of them all?***

This is a story of three friends… Juan, Pedro and Jose.

1. Juan loves his job. He’s a call center agent. He earns P25,000/month.

.. .and since he works hard, he sees to it that he compensates his effort on his rest days by watching movies, dating with “beautiful”ladies, eating in fine-dining restaurants, goes to gigs, attends all of his team’s out-of-town escapades, etc. (on top of that, he’s addicted to smoking. he puffs 2 packs of cigarette a day. 77% of call center agents smoke)

You can sum up his lifestyle to this: “eat drink and be merry.”

3-4 days before payday, he borrows money to his friends because he has used up all of his salary for his unnecessary lifestyle.

sweld-bayad-utang. sweldo-bayad-utang. it’s a never ending cycle.

his income: P25,000/month
his expenses: P35,000/month

2. Pedro is a nice guy. He’s a government employee and earns P15,000/monthly. he’s the eldest of the 8 children. he’s supporting 3 siblings who are still studying – 1 in college and 2 in high school. No matter how tight the situation is, he nevers borrow money from others.

He wanted to marry his childhood sweetheart named Petra but he still needs to support his younger siblings.

A friend invited him to an opportunity meeting, he saw the potential to earn in that business (dahil marami siyang prospects). but he never acted on it. he cant afford to borrow. he’s afraid to take the risk.

his income: P15,000.00/monthly
his expenses: P15,000/monthly
his savings: bokya. zero. zilch. nada. kaput.

3. Jose is a tricycle driver. everyday he earns P250 income but he sets aside P35 pesos consistently . he’s total monthly savings is P1,000.

on the 6th month, he invested his 6,000 and joined an MLM company.

on the 7th month onwards, he intends to continue his monthly savings of P1,000 coz he will use it in his 3rd business project (a longganiza business).

his income: P7,500/monthly (P250/day)
his expenses: P6,500/monthly
his savings: P1,000 month

additional income: P5,000/monthly (from his MLM business… and it keeps growing)

as you observed, the three of them have different “psychological wallet”

Im not done with the story yet..

One day, the entire barkada decided to watch a movie.
On their way to the moviehouse, they saw a lamp.

Okay, let’s go to the important part of the story, a genie came out of the lamp..
The genie said, “i’ll grant you only one wish. Only one from the three of you can make the wish. be careful with what you wish for because whatever you ask it’s gonna happen as well to your two friends.”

(all of a sudden, white smoke filled the air and when the view cleared out the genie was gone and each of them had a cheque in their hand (sandali partner, hindi ‘to yung weekly na tseke mo sa kasalukuyan mong MLM company).

balik tayo sa magkaibigan. to their surprise, each of their check has the same amount of money (in words and figures) at ang nakatatak  ay “paid to cash“..

… guess how much they got from the genie? its  P471 million!

who do you think among the three friends will still have his money after 5 years?

admit it or not…
some networkers are like lotto winners… (ahem)

here’s the lesson:
1. if you cant handle “small” money, chances are you cant handle “big money”.
2. your expenses should be smaller than you entire net income and not the other way around.
3. you dont need to prove to anybody how much money you have (they’ll still find out later)
4. keep your job and do some business on the side (like joining MLM, direct selling, real state or insurance companies)
5. Learn the skill of “selling”

HAPPY NETWORKING!!!
